Egypt–Sudan border

Egypt

4.5 (0)
Overview

International border. It lies in Egypt's desert belt, best visited between October and April.

Why visit: The oldest of the Seven Wonders and the only one still standing — and unlike almost every other ancient site, you can go inside.

Things to do
  • ›Buy the separate ticket to go inside a pyramid — the entry fee only covers the site
  • ›Walk or ride out to the panorama point for the classic all-three view
  • ›Go at opening; by mid-morning both the heat and the crowds have arrived
  • ›Agree any camel or horse price in writing beforehand, and pay at the end
